Kelly Lynn Wilson

Kelly Lynn Wilson, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, activist, and feminist, passed away on April 25th, 2024 at the age of 60 years. She leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and strength that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

Born and raised in the small town of Coweta, Kelly was a woman of strong convictions and unwavering determination. She fearlessly spoke her mind, even when her opinions differed from those around her. Kelly's commitment to standing up for herself and her loved ones was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Kelly was a devoted mother to her daughter. Choosing to be a single mother, she displayed immense courage and resilience. Her kindness, gentleness, and understanding nature made her a remarkable mother who nurtured her daughter's growth while allowing her independence.

One of Kelly's greatest joys in life was being a grandmother. Her granddaughters affectionately called her Mimi, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Kelly's love for her family extended beyond her immediate circle, as she took pride in her nieces and nephew, playing an instrumental role in shaping their lives.

Kelly is survived by her daughter, Miranda Hampton and her husband Chad of Broken Arrow, OK; her grandchildren, Rory Wilson and Saber Hampton; her brother, Gary Million of Broken Arrow, OK; her nieces, Robi Holmes, Rachelle Holmes, Devin Renshaw, Madison Snyder, and Dalynn Steelmon; her nephew, Caleb Duncan; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Kelly was preceded in death by her parents Loyd Jay and Darlene Wilson and her sister, Dana Snyder.

Kelly had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and was particularly passionate about science fiction literature. She immersed herself in the imaginative worlds of the genre, fueling her curiosity and expanding her understanding of the universe. Kelly's love for reading was only rivaled by her love for nature and travel. She found solace and inspiration in exploring the wonders of the natural world, creating unforgettable memories along the way.

Beyond her personal pursuits, Kelly was an activist and a fervent advocate for gender equality. She fought tirelessly for the rights of women, leaving an indelible mark on her community and inspiring others to follow in her footsteps.

Kelly Wilson will be remembered as the "fun aunt" who brought joy and laughter to every family gathering. Her presence filled the room with warmth and her infectious spirit uplifted those around her. She paved the way for future generations, instilling in them the values of courage, compassion, and resilience.

Though Kelly may no longer be with us physically, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of Kelly's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to planned parenthood which reflects Kelly's passion for women's rights.
