Obituary

Kristi Michele Parks, age 59, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 26, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kristi was surrounded by family and loved ones as she now joins with her parents, Norman Howard and Irene (Taber) Parks, her brother, Mike Parks, and her lifelong friend, Wantha Ann Deaton, in the heavenly realm.

Kristi is survived by her sweet dog, Charley Michael Parks, and Linda Pawless, her adopted mother with her extended family for the past 35 years. Kristi shared a sister bond with Stayci Fast and Mindy Thurlow. Their children, Isabela, Gannon, and Ronan loved Kristi beyond words. Kristi was the most fun, the best storyteller, best back-scratcher, and overall best Aunt ever.

Kristi was the dear sister-in-law to her brother Mike’s wife Jodi Parks, and the beloved aunt to her niece and nephew, Brandon Parks and Ashlee Beams. Kristi loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own kids, and her influence was such a bright light in all of their lives.

Kristi leaves behind her very dearly loved great nieces and nephews, her aunt, Frances Foster and her dearly loved cousins.

Kristi attended Broken Arrow and Coweta schools and graduated from Coweta High School, class of 1982. She was blessed with a lifelong friendship with Lynda Martin, who she met in the 6th grade. Kristi is also survived by a multitude of other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She enjoyed a successful career in the banking software industry. She always worked just as hard for the success of others as she did for herself, right up until her final days.

Kristi had a great love for the beach, her favorite being Rosemary Beach, FL where she lived. She loved lighthouses and sunsets over the white sand, snow cones and weenie dogs, flip-flops and boats, playing music with her Dad and Mike, and she was always singing. She was a songwriter and loved playing the guitar. Kristi was the kindest person you would ever meet.  Kristi always put others first. She lived with such integrity, always with kindness in her heart and full of a love so bright, you could hear it in her voice every time you’d speak to her.

Kristi’s presence will be deeply missed, but like the bright glow of the lighthouse, may her memory and loving spirit be a bright light to guide all that knew and loved her as we make our way home.

A graveside service to honor Kristi's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK. Due to the heat, the family requests to please wear something cool.
