Larry Laughery Obituary

Larry Dean Laughery, age 84, Broken Arrow resident went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, December 23, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Larry was born on December 20, 1936 in Ashland, Ohio and was the son of Raymond and Lois (Stout) Laughery.  He was raised in Ashland, Ohio and graduated from Ashland High School.  Larry married the love of his life, Edna Carolyn Hill on June 8, 1968 in Fort Benning, Georgia.  Larry enlisted in the Army in 1964 and was honorable discharged in 1971, where he was a Staff Sergeant.  He worked for the United States Customs as a Senior Customs Inspector for many years until he retired in 1994.  He was a member of Our Finest Hour Church in Broken Arrow.  Larry loved playing his steel guitar in his younger years and he also enjoyed wood working.

Larry is survived by his wife, Edna Laughery; his children, Jeffrey Laughery, Major Steve Laughery (Retired Air Force), Barry Laughery and wife Rhonda, Tamara “Tami” Lewis and husband Randy, SFC Roger Baggett (Retired Army) and wife Brenda, Major Carolyn Reed (Retired Army) and husband Bob, and Harvin Baggett (Retired US Customs); twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lois Laughery and eleven brothers and sisters.

A private family service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021.
