Leonard Ray Brooks

Leonard Ray Brooks, age 71, resident of Tulsa departed this life on Wednesday afternoon, June 2, 2021 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Leonard was born on August 16, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was the son of Wiley and Della Pearl (Maple) Brooks.  He was a 1968 graduate of Chelsea High School.  Leonard then attended Miami Junior College where he received an Associates Degree in Accounting.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving from 1970 to 1972.  Leonard married the love of his life, Sherry Lynn Hendrix on June 7, 1975 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He worked as a salesman at Ugh! U-Need-Um Tires and retired from Hercules Tires in 2017. He also worked part time at Starlite Skating Rink.  He enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and he loved spending time with his grandkids.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Sherry Brooks of the home in Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sons, Daniel Brooks and wife Marissa of Coweta, Oklahoma, Chris Brooks and wife Kristin of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Leonard Brooks Jr. and Brittany of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two brothers, Glenn Brooks and wife April of Mineral Ridge, Ohio and Dennis Brooks of Tulsa, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Jorin Brooks, Macey Brooks, McKayla Brooks, Madison Brooks, Austyn Brooks, Kalii Brooks, Kaleb Brooks, Brinley Brooks, Seth Brooks, and Liam Brooks; his sister-in-law, Belinda Brooks of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Della Pearl Brooks and one brother, Gerald Brooks.

A memorial service celebrating Leonard’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma.
