Lloyd Lester Younger, Sr.

Lloyd Lester Younger was born on October 15, 1962 to Katherine Carter and Lloyd Owens Younger, Sr. in Boynton, Oklahoma.

Lloyd was raised in Boynton, Oklahoma and received his formal education from Boynton Public Schools.  After graduating, Lloyd moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma for several years, and later moved back to Boynton, Oklahoma, and then began his adult life in Coweta, Oklahoma where he called home.  Lloyd was blessed with five children, Deliah Mason-Younger, Lloyd Younger, Jr., Jasmine Younger, Janie Owens, and Jennifer.  Later in life, he met the love of his life that he called, “Baby Doll”, Detra Ann Asberry turning into Detra Ann Younger on July 1, 2006 and to this union brought three children, Quisha Asberry, Drae Asberry, and TiNele Asberry.

Lloyd found gainful employment with Spirit Aeronautics for 10 years, where he retired on December 3. 2020.

Lloyd accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Boynton, Oklahoma.  Lloyd returned home to Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he found a profound trust in the Lord that He would never leave or forsake him.  On the morning of Monday, January 11, 2021, the Lord called him home.  He didn’t complain.  He dozed into eternity to receive eternal rest from his labor.  He was welcomed into the Heavenly Gates by his father, Lloyd Owens Younger, Sr., his mother, Katherine (Carter) Younger, and his sister, Patsy Younger.

Lloyd leaves to cherish his precious memory, his loving wife, Detra Ann Younger “Sweet Sweet”; his eight children, Deliah Mason-Younger of Boynton, Oklahoma, Lloyd Younger, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jasmine Younger of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Janie Owens of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jennifer Owens of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Quisha Asberry of Coweta, Oklahoma, Drae Asberry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and TiNele Asberry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; twenty-two grandchildren; his three sisters, Cathy Younger-Gaines of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sheila Younger-Antwine of Boynton, Oklahoma, and Mary Carter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his three brothers, Bobby Younger, Sr. of Boynton, Oklahoma, Preston Younger of Boynton, Oklahoma, and Jamie Younger of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation for Lloyd will be 12:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta.  A Homegoing Celebration will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Lloyd will be laid to rest at Lee Cemetery in Boynton, Oklahoma.
