Lynford Clifton Ryals

Lynford Clifton Ryals, age 79, resident of Coweta departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Lynford was born on March 27, 1941 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and was the son of Clifton D. and Ruth Louise (Huckleberry) Ryals.

Lynford was a graduate of Tahlequah High School in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  He married, Phyllis Kay Bryan on December 31, 1964 in Wagoner, Oklahoma.  Lynford began working as a framing carpenter, then a trim carpenter, and later became a millwright for American Airlines.  After retiring, he started woodturning and got rather good at it and would give a hand turned bowl or pen as a gift to anyone getting married or graduating, so those gifts are treasured.  He was a member of the Carpenter/Millwright Union.  He loved to talk to people about the Bible and he loved history and Bible facts.  He could remember almost anything he read, what book he read it in, and what page it was on.  So needless to say, he had an amazing memory.  Lynford loved to tell stories about growing up in Peggs, Oklahoma.  He was very proud of his family.

Lynford is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ryals; his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel Sudduth and husband Ken; his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Ryals and wife Amy; his son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Ryals and wife Amanda; six grandchildren, Aaron Sudduth, Mikayla Nguyen, Noah Ryals, Cade Ryals, Savannah Rahm, and Zac Sheppard; three great grandchildren, Harrison Sudduth, Lauren Nguyen, and Charlie Rahm; and so many friends he considered family.

Lynford was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Louise (Huckleberry) Ryals; his father, Clifton D. Ryals; and his uncle, Silas Thomas Huckleberry, III “Uncle Bud”.

His wishes were to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held.
