Mary Ann Hetherington

Mary Ann Hetherington, age 63, resident of Porter, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Mary was born on September 11, 1958 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Earl Clayton and Ida Mae (Grayson) Keele.  She attended Porter schools and was a 1976 graduate of Porter High School.  Mary then went to business college in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She married the love of her life, Allen Dwight Hetherington on February 4, 1983.  Mary later became a nursing assistant and worked at the Broken Arrow Nursing Home for 20 years.  She loved gardening, cooking, fishing, riding motorcycles, being outdoors, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her husband, Allen Hetherington of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; one daughter, Misty Dawn Henderson and her husband Kirk of Augusta, Kansas; two sons, Valace Franklin Sanders and his wife Amber of Coweta, Oklahoma and Marcus Allen Hetherington of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Dax, Coy, Paislei, Rylan, Dakota, Lynley Jean, and Ringo; two brothers, Henry Keele of Porter, Oklahoma and Danny Keele of Boynton, Oklahoma; one sister, Margaret Cole of Porter, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter, Avery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 and services celebrating Mary’s life will follow at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the Broken Arrow Indian United Methodist in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Rev. Eli McHenry and Rev. Heather Jones officiating.  Mary will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, Oklahoma.
