Neallie Pearl Thornburg

Neallie Pearl Thornburg, age 80, longtime Broken Arrow resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, October 16, 2020 at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Neallie was born on April 6, 1940 in Charleston, Arkansas and was the daughter of Alfred E. and Elvie Marie (Douglas) Hooper.  Neallie was a 1958 graduate of Union High School in Tulsa.  She married the love of her life, Allen Lee Thornburg on April 18, 1959 in Tulsa.  She worked for Bank of Oklahoma Mortgage as a mortgage and escrow supervisor for 29 years until she retired in 2007.  She enjoyed camping, working in the flower beds, reading, traveling to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and she loved spending time with her family.

Neallie is survived by her husband, Allen Thornburg of the home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four children, Brenda Gale Baker of Arkansas, Jerry Duane Thornburg and wife Debbie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Loretta Denise Gensert of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Scott Allen Thornburg of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Neallie was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred E. and Elvie Marie Hooper; one son, Allen Lee Thornburg, Jr.; two brothers, Charles Hooper and Archie Hooper; and two sisters, Wanda Christian and Esther Burgess.

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home.  Services celebrating Neallie’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta.  Neallie will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta.
