Rita King Obituary

Rita Irene King, age 74, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma departed this life on Saturday morning, September 11, 2021 at St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Rita was born on June 14, 1947 in Emporia, Kansas to Vernon Russell and Florence (Bobo) Dawes.  She graduated high school in Americus, Kansas.  Rita was a homemaker for most of her life, who loved taking care of her family.  She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

Rita is survived by her husband, Ron Petty of Coweta, Oklahoma; her daughter, Amelia King and husband Rick Speaks of Claremore, Oklahoma; her son, James King and wife Jennifer Marquez of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her stepson, Lawan Petty and wife Ninya of Coweta, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Chancey Olmstead, Amber Pass and husband Joe, Dillan Petty, and Cheyanne Petty; three great grandchildren, Jace Pass, Jaxon Pass, and Mallory Rose; one great grandchild on the way; her brother, Ronnie Dawes and wife Belita of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her sister-in-law, Wilma Jean Schmidt of Emporia, Kansas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Russell and Florence Dawes and her brother, Jimmie Davis.
