Russell Lee Gadlage

Russell Lee Gadlage, age, 65, resident of Coweta, OK passed away on Friday evening, May 26, 2023, in Okmulgee, OK, following a tragic accident. He was born on May 3, 1958, in Arkansas City, Kansas to Kenneth A. and Marjorie Erlene (Fanning) Gadlage.

Russell attended Coweta Public Schools and went on to serve his country as a proud veteran of the United States Army, eventually rising to the rank of Sergeant. After his military service, Russell's hard work and dedication led him to become an instructor at Tulsa Welding School for five years. A talented welder, tree trimmer, and carpenter, he was known as a handyman who could fix anything. His skills and expertise were highly regarded, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Throughout his life, Russell was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating. He loved attending auctions, estate sales, and garage sales, always on the lookout for a great find. Russell's adventurous spirit and love for life were evident in everything he did, and he will be remembered for his infectious laughter and the joy he brought to those around him.

Russell is survived by his six children, Christina Dorsey and husband John of Welch, OK, Malachi Gadlage of Tulsa, OK, Russell Gadlage Jr. and fiancé Sarah of Tulsa, OK, Miranda Murphy and husband Russell of Slick, OK, Marcus Gadlage of Haskell, OK, and Matthew Gadlage of Coweta, OK. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Kendall Dorsey, Aiden Dorsey, Bently Sturdevant, Bryleigh Sturdevant, Aiden Murphy, and Lorelai Gadlage. Russell also leaves behind three sisters, Judith Gadlage and husband James Lawrence of Tulsa, OK, Kelly Creekmore and husband Chris of Broken Arrow, OK, and Teresa Coppage of Broken Arrow, OK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Samantha Lea Gadlage, his parents, Kenneth A. and Marjorie Erlene Gadlage, and a stillborn brother, Stephen Allen Gadlage.

Visitation for Russell will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. A service celebrating Russell's life will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Abundant Rain Church in Coweta, OK, with Pastor Ron Spradlin officiating. Russell will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.

Russell will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his passion for life. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
