Ruthie Ann McClellan

Ruthie Ann McClellan, age 69, lifelong Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, February 21, 2021 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Ruthie was born on March 17, 1951 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Harlan Edward “Sonny” and Betty Rose (Foster) Reynolds.

Ruthie was a 1969 graduate of Coweta High School.  After graduating, she attended Tulsa University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Education.  Ruthie was a teacher at Southside Elementary in Coweta for many years until she retired.  She enjoyed playing basketball in school, twirling with the Coweta Band, going on vacations with her friends, visiting with her mother, arts and crafts, spending time with her grandkids, and she was a huge Elvis fan.  Ruthie lived her life to the fullest and always put the need of others first.  She was passionate about her tremendous circle of friends from every aspect of her life.

Ruthie is survived by her mother and stepfather, Betty Rose & Norman Parks of Coweta, Oklahoma; her daughter, Angel Taylor and husband Bob of Edmond, Oklahoma; her son, Andrew McClellan of Coweta, Oklahoma; her brother, Eddie Reynolds and wife Beverly of Coweta, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Arielle “Ari” Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Avery Rose Taylor of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Alyssa Belle Taylor of Edmond, Oklahoma; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Ruthie was preceded in death by her father, Harlan Edward “Sonny” Reynolds.

A memorial service celebrating Ruthie’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Vern Charette officiating.  The service will be live-streamed at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/48871.
