Verna Patrice Harris, a beloved sister, aunt, and devoted friend, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK at the age of 64 years. She was born on May 22, 1958, in Rentiesville, OK to Alvin Christopher and Berthina Harris. Verna lived a fulfilling and joyous life, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.

Verna retired from Niles Group Home where she looked after children with great care and compassion. Her work allowed her to touch the lives of many children, making a difference where it mattered the most. She provided love, support, and guidance to those who needed it and became a beacon of hope for those around her.

Throughout her life, Verna had a strong connection with her family, always cherishing the moments spent together at family gatherings. Her interests centered around simple yet meaningful pleasures, such as playing cards and cooking delicious meals for her loved ones, creating memorable moments with them.

Verna's love extended beyond her family to her dog, Jojo, who brought joy and happiness into her life.

Verna is survived by her loving siblings, Reginold Harris of Rentiesville, OK, Larry Elder and girlfriend Ressie of Kansas City, MO, Marie (Elder) Mason and husband Richard of Redbird, OK, and Robert Elder of Kansas City, MO. Her memory will be carried on by her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Christopher, her mother, Berthina Harris, her brother, Carl Elder, her step-father, James Elder, and her niece, Berthina Hinson.

While no services are planned at this time for Verna, her family cherishes the moments and memories they shared with her throughout the years.
