Wanda Lea Ward

Wanda Lea Ward, age 88, resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma went to be her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Wanda was born on April 12, 1933 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to James Edwin “Jimmie” Buster and Georgia Irene (Howard) Bell.  She attended school at Wagoner and Coweta Public Schools.  Wanda owned and operated an automotive shop for many years.  She was very passionate about her horses that she raised and raced.  Wanda enjoyed shopping and playing bingo.  She will be greatly missed for her beautiful smile and her caring nature.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Paula Evans and companion Mike Scott of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her son, Darrell Evans of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Duane Evans and wife Darra of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Michelle McCarty and husband Larry of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Darrell Evans, Jr. and wife Tiffany of Claremore, Oklahoma; eight great grandchildren, Elizabeth Evans, Emma Evans, Alaina McCarty, Austin McCarty, Keylee McCarty, Bella McCarty, Brooklynn Evans, and Austin Evans; one great-great granddaughter, August Ray; two sisters, Bonnie Bowlin and husband George of Claremore, Oklahoma and Laura Cox of Coweta, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, James Edwin “Jimmie” Buster and Georgia Irene Bell. 

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Graveside services celebrating Wanda’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
